Meet David Sharp

David Sharp is a dynamic speaker, teacher, and entrepreneur who believes that when we see ourselves as investments, we can radically change our financial situations for the better. He teaches that it’s less about the money you don’t have right now, and more about the mindset you develop toward your finances. Your wealth begins with how you think, which has led him to provide a Sharper Perspective on finances for communities of color.

After nearly flunking out of High School, David made the decision to turn his life around. He began reading books that would shape the philosophy that he teaches today. A graduate of Morehouse College, David founded Urban Advisors - an investment consulting firm focusing on economic development. With more than twenty years of expertise under his belt, David understands how to educate and empower individuals, business owners, and communities. David Sharp has been instrumental in developing entrepreneurs of color programs in Atlanta, Charlotte, St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, South Carolina, New Mexico, and Haiti.

David Sharp is also Founder and Managing Partner of UP Community Fund, an impact investment firm established in Charlotte, NC. Since 2018, UP Community Fund’s core focus has been to establish funding programs that address asset and income inequality for communities and people of color.

David Sharp is an avid community advocate and enjoys sharing his unique approach to financial literacy and economic development. His mission to empower people of color through developing a mind for wealth and improved relationships with money is transforming lives and families across the country.
